NAVI ("we," "us," or "our") operates the NAVI marketplace platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you use our platform.

By using NAVI, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.

Beta notice: NAVI is currently in beta. This policy is a starting point and will be reviewed by legal counsel before the platform scales or processes payments.

Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash via Firebase Authentication).
• Profile information: for providers, business name, service categories, location, bio, and profile photo.
• Job listings: descriptions, location, budget, and any details you include in a job post.
• Messages: communications between customers and providers on the platform.
• Reviews and ratings: feedback you leave for providers or customers.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interactions within the platform.
• Device information: browser type, operating system, and IP address.
• Cookies and local storage: we use browser storage to maintain session state and preferences (e.g., message read status). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Connect customers with service providers.
• Facilitate communications between users.
• Send transactional emails (verification, password reset, booking confirmations).
• Send platform updates and newsletters, if you opted in.
• Improve and develop the platform.
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

With other users

Provider profiles (name, business name, services, location, ratings) are visible to customers browsing the platform. Job listings (description, location, status) are visible to providers. Direct messages are visible only to the customer and provider involved.

With service providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of NAVI or its users.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@navilocal.com.

We may retain certain data for longer periods to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

NAVI uses browser local storage to maintain your session, track message read status, and remember preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings, though this may affect platform functionality (e.g., you will be logged out).

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS), Firebase Authentication for credential management, and Firestore security rules to restrict data access.

No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information and are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from factors outside our control.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information in your account.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Opt out of marketing emails (via the unsubscribe link in any email we send).
